Harikrishna and Liem Quang Le dominating the Masters

Prague International Chess Festival is halfway through. Before it concludes on Friday, June 17th June there are five more rounds ahead for all 360 participants, that are to decide the final winner. 

Most eyes are of course on the Masters tournament. Four rounds in, Liem Le Quang and Pentala Harikrishna are currently in the lead. Czech team member Van Nguyen claimed his first victory in the Masters tournament and is just a half-point behind the leading pair. Czech #1 David Navara's score is also 2,5 points after the 4th round with a worse tie-breaking rating.

In the Challengers tournament, young promising players are shining the most. Vincent Keymer from Germany is in the lead with three points. Jerguš Pecháč from Slovakia is currently 2nd and Nodirbek Abdusattorov from Uzbekistan is 3rd. All Czechs have gained 1,5 points so far, placing 8th–10th.

In the Futures tournament of young prodigies, Atilla Kuru lost just a half-point which got him in the lead. Kamil Warchol of 2nd place and Jiří Bouška of 3rd place both have three points. Timofey Bokhnak is currently in 5th place and Lada Zelbová in 9th place is mostly gaining valuable experience for now.
