Regulations of the 5th edition published
The 5th edition of the Prague International Chess Festival will be held on 20th – 30th June 2023 and, traditionally, in the four-star Prague Hotel Don Giovanni. The Masters tournament will present the Czech n0. 1 and 2 players, David Navara and Thai Dai Van Nguyen respectively. Van Nguyen won the bronze medal last year and Pentala Harikrishna, an Indian Grandmaster, also confirmed his participation to try and defend his title.
Chess enthusiasts will not only enjoy closed tournaments such as Masters, Challengers, and Futures but can also look forward to the Open or rating tournaments. The Festival organizers have prepared something new as well. The chess program of each Festival day will be accompanied by a side tournament. The morning of Friday, 23rd June is reserved for a chess solving competition, for Saturday, 24th June they have planned a speed chess tournament, and the morning of Sunday, 25th June will host a blitz chess tournament. Registration for the Open tournament and rating tournaments has already begun and this year, the applicants can also sign up via an online form. See the Festival regulations for more information.
