Exhibition and Auction of Historic Chess Literature and Chess Pieces
As part of the Prague International Chess Festival, an exhibition and auction will take place on March 1st at 16:00 in the Hotel Don Giovanni Prague. It will showcase historic chess literature, chess pieces, and chess equipment. The exhibition is open to all chess enthusiasts eager to explore books and materials from past eras, while the auction welcomes anyone interested in acquiring a unique piece of chess history. Featured items include books over a hundred years old—many from before last century—written in German, Czech, and English. Visitors will also discover the history of the traditional Czech chess set Česká klubovka, with an opportunity to purchase selected pieces. Additionally, the auction will offer mechanical chess clocks from past times, which would make a great addition to any collection.
